Why did you choose it?   What problem did you identify?  How does this system impact humans, environment and culture? 

 

I chose to engage with a farm called Crooked Sky Farms because it is a local farm in the state and because, this farm produces wheat and I decided to focus my past and present food production system on rice and rice and wheat are both a type of grain. I identified a problem with the distribution of their products. They ship out to many places but, they don’t have enough space which is why they have to expand and also, they have only a few working the fields and that could become a problem in the future. This food production system helps the community by hosting events and having families come in and pick their own freshly grown produce.  They also help the environment because they do a lot of composting with left over crops.
